Laparascopic Surgery
Laparascopic Surgery
Laparoscopic Surgery is an operative procedure which uses a laparoscope or an endoscope. These scopes are designed to permit visual examination of the abdominal cavity without fully opening it with a surgical incision to view the tissue or organs.
This type surgery usually has smaller surgical incisions and a shorter recovery time. Most of these procedures are performed on an outpatient basis. While not all surgeries can be performed laparoscopically, this technology is widely available and a safe option for certain procedures.
Eastside Medical Center's Surgery Department has state-of-the-art laparoscopic instruments and physicians and support personnel who are specially trained in the use of these instruments. To read more about laparoscopic surgery, click here.
