Hypoglycemia

Low blood sugar can be a side effect of medications taken to stimulate the production of insulin by the pancreas.

Skipping meals, going too long between meals, vigorous exercise without supplementing with snacks, and alcohol can contribute to a low blood sugar reaction.

Symptoms include:

  • Rapid heartbeat

  • Weakness

  • Sweating

  • Irritability

  • Visual changes
